Happy New Year! As we enter 2021, I am excited for the new prospects of the year. Since we managed to achieve great things throughout the crazy period of 2020, what will we achieve this year?
2021 marks the midpoint of our Strategic Plan period. Under the Plan we focus on five strategic areas (below).
During last year, Jo Plummer (Chair of VicWater) and I met with the Chairs and MDs of all of our member organisations to hear their feedback on our progress with the Strategic Plan. Their advice influenced and validated the next steps for our organisation in serving the needs of our members. The below table summarises the feedback and our actions according to the five areas of strategic focus. These are in addition to the core programs identified in our 2020/21 Business Plan.
The review of our progress has caused us to make changes in our operating environment and the structure of our team. In 2021, you will see a new Communications Coordinator who will assist in managing media and creating messages that are responsive and representative of our industry. The role will also support industry engagements in cooperation with Fee Boucher, VicWater’s Member Experience Manager, and Lauren Vines, our Events Coordinator. We are currently recruiting for the role. If you would like to know more about the role, please get in touch with Fee or myself.
We are also upgrading our office to be better orientated toward our members’ needs. On 1 February, when we open our doors, we expect to have the refurbishment complete. This relies on permits and approvals, so fingers are crossed that it will go to plan!
You can expect more changes to VicWater over the year; I’ll keep you up to date as we progress through them. You could say we will be better for better together!
