I have previously been seconded in roles at City West Water with Serco and Programmed Maintenance, and found these experiences were a real advancement to my career, learning about different processes and work ethics.
I have a real passion for our industry and believe this program is a step in the right direction.
It was always a vision of mine to build relationships with other authorities to be more open and sharing of information and also the opportunity to share each other’s services. I think the secondment program will enhance shared servicing and knowledge building. As an industry we often rely on contractors and consultants due to gaps, however this program could utilise what the Victorian water authorities already have, to retain employees with a secondment pool of talented skilled workers.
My formal qualifications include a Diploma of Engineering Technologies and a trade certificate in Carpentry. I also hold a Level 2 in First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, Confined Space Entry, Asbestos Removal, Traffic Management and Internal Audit certifications.
Currently based at Central Highlands Water as a Works Management Team Leader, I have full support from my manager regarding secondment placement as I look to expand my knowledge, build networks and shared visions within our sector.
