VicWater is the peak industry association for water businesses in Victoria. VicWater plays an important role in the Victorian water industry with our purpose being to influence government policy, provide industry forums on priority issues, and disseminate news and information to members and stakeholders. We assist members to achieve extraordinary performance while helping to influence the future of the Victorian water industry.
The Policy and Regulation Manager is accountable for the provision of high quality services to the water businesses that make up the membership of VicWater. In this role, you will lead VicWater’s efforts to shape government policy and reduce red tape to ensure the effective management and utilisation of Victoria’s water resources.
As a self-starter with a passion for progressing our water industry, you will be engaging with senior staff from across the sector to build consistent positions and alternative approaches for its betterment. In the role, you will develop a broad understanding of industry needs and expand your career prospects by growing your skills in policy development, networking, facilitation and communications.
This role sees you collaborating with the 18 water corporations across the state providing services in metropolitan, regional and rural sectors along with the state agencies and regulators. Working within a small and enthusiastic team, you will be a constructive team player, attending functions on behalf of VicWater and at times visiting member businesses across the State.

We are looking for someone:
- With an ability to consult and engage with members, academics, government officials and other relevant stakeholders at all levels
- Who has an understanding of the regulatory environment
- Engages in research and can write clear position papers, guidelines, submissions and policies on relevant subjects
- Who can effectively manage multi-stakeholder projects, and
- Effectively breaks down and disseminates data that is meaningful to our members’ needs.
