VicWater extends its warmest congratulations to Dr Nerina Di Lorenzo on her appointment of Managing Director, Melbourne Water. Nerina will step into the role from 1 December 2021.
Nerina joined Melbourne Water in 2019 and has played a critical role in shaping the Melbourne Water approach to providing secure water services. Prior to joining Melbourne Water Nerina has held several executive leadership positions including almost five years as CEO of Moreland City Council, and working within the oil sector in Asset Management, Infrastructure Operations, Project Delivery and Business Improvement.
Nerina holds bachelor’s degrees in engineering and business and has a PhD in organisational change management. Her leadership skills and ability to drive customer outcomes will be a great asset to Melbourne Water.
She will take over from Michael Wandmaker, who has been at the helm of Melbourne Water for the past seven years. Michael's focus on financial performance, continuous improvement and a renewed focus on safety has seen Melbourne Water enjoy great success, including extremely high staff engagement which has contributed to their reputation as one of Victoria’s best places to work.
We wish Michael the very best for his future endeavours and look forward to working with Nerina in her new role.
