
Westernport Water wins best tap water award
VicWater extends our congratulations to Westernport Water for winning the recent Water Industry Operators Association of Australia (WIOA) 2021 Best Tasting Tap Water competition. Judges undertook blind testing and took note of specific water qualities including colour, clarity, odour and mouthfeel. The winning samples were taken from Westernport Water’s Ian Bartlett Purification Plant.
The awards are a way to shine a light on the significant commitment that Victorian water corporations and their water treatment teams have made to delivering safe and sustainable water products and services. Westernport Water’s samples will now be judged in the national competition.
WIOA Chief Operations Officer, Craig Mathieson says of the win: “I’d like to congratulate Westernport Water on winning the 2021 Best Tasting Tap Water in Victoria this year.”
“The competition recognises and acknowledges individuals and organisations that are stepping up, some in very trying circumstances, to make sure their communities are supplied with safe drinking water every day.”
