A word from the Interim CEO
As I take on the Interim CEO role at VicWater, I am the first to say that Pete Morison is a very hard act to follow! Over the past three years, I have been privileged to work closely with Pete on many initiatives to improve the way that VicWater operates and the value we deliver for our members.
Which leads me to reflect on the importance of partnership, and how a genuine and trusted partnership can be transformative in achieving great outcomes for all involved.
As a small organisation with limited resources, working in partnership with others is critical to VicWater’s ability to deliver on our strategic and business priorities and maximise our member offering.
Our partnership with valued sponsors Vision Super, Aptumo, ARQ, AECOM and Maddocks will enable us to hold our long-awaited and twice-postponed Annual Conference in June, where we look forward to connecting with our members in person – fingers crossed! (Registrations are still open.)
As noted in this update, our partnership with Vic Catchments, recently formalised in an MOU, has already achieved benefits such as the industry secondments program, which facilitates secondment opportunities between water corporations, CMAs, the VEWH and the water and catchments group at DELWP.
Finally, I am pleased to announce that we have entered into new strategic partnership with Monash Sustainable Development Institute to deliver the VicWater Director Development Program, commencing in July. This program will provide sector-specific professional development opportunities for non-executive directors on water corporation and CMA boards. We will release more information over the coming weeks.
As we head into the Easter and Anzac Day long weekends, I hope you all have a chance to enjoy some rest and recreation with family and friends.
