A word from the Interim CEO
The past month has seen the Victorian Government change its approach to managing COVID, with the removal of many of the restrictions and directions that have been in place for much of the past two years. While this has been generally welcomed in the community, it has placed the onus back on employers to determine how best to ensure the health and safety of their workforce and workplaces. To support our members with information and advice about COVID-related employment and OHS challenges, we are running a free legal webinar in partnership with DLA Piper, ‘Coming out the other side of COVID’ – more information and a link to register is included below.
The easing of COVID restrictions has seen a return to our Melbourne CBD office, not just for VicWater staff, but also for our members. Over this past month we’ve been pleased to host many of our members at graduate training workshops, board meetings and other gatherings, and without exception people have been excited to be meeting face-to-face again. During lockdown we upgraded our A/V facilities so we can also support hybrid meetings. If you would like to book a meeting room please contact us at vicwater@vicwater.org.au
Finally, it would be remiss of me not to include another reminder about our Annual Conference on 8-9 June 2022 – less than 6 weeks to go! We are excited to present a great line up of speakers and panel sessions on topics relating to the conference theme ‘Resilience and Readiness’, plus plenty of networking opportunities at the welcome drinks and conference dinner. Registrations are open until 1 June 2022 – book now.
