The afternoon session of the Leadership and Innovation stream will be led by Dr Gavriel Schneider, a business leader and specialist in human-based risk management and the psychology of risk. He is a leading academic in his field and will present on his area of specialisation, Presilience, Resilience & the Psychology of Risk. Dr Gav is the founder of Presilience, which is a trademarked approach to business risk that has preparation, response and recovery at its heart.

He has been running his own businesses since 2001 and has conducted business in over 17 countries; and is currently the CEO at Risk 2 Solutions Group. Throughout his career Dr Gav has provided a wide range of services for a very diverse client base, ranging from heads of state, to schoolteachers.

The previous 10 years has seen Dr Gav hold positions as a CEO, Trainer and Consultant as well as a Director and Board Member of for profit, not for profit and community organisations. He is the Head Lecturer and Program Director for the Australian Catholic Universities (ACU) postgraduate program on the Psychology of Risk and an author of two books – Beyond the Bodyguard and Can I See Your Hands. His second book Can I See Your Hands was nominated as ASIS book of the year in 2018.
He holds a Doctorial degree in Criminology and a Masters of Technology (UNISA). In addition, he holds numerous trainer, educational and coaching qualifications. Read more
