Bruce Mountain will be discussing Zero Carbon and what that means for finances on Thursday 20 May

Professor Bruce Mountain

Professor and Director, Victoria Energy Policy Centre

Professor Bruce Mountain will join us at Connect 2021 in the Finance & Risk stream to talk about zero carbon and what this means for our finances. Bruce is an energy economist specialising in the economic regulation of utilities and in the design of electricity markets and renewable energy policies, so he is well placed to provide an external viewpoint, coming from the perspective of forecasting the energy market.

Bruce is a Professor and the Founding Director of the Victoria Energy Policy Centre (VEPC) at Victoria University, founder of BeatyourBill, and Director of Carbon and Energy Markets (Pty Ltd). He started his career in the electricity industry, and then as a consultant to energy regulators, government departments, industry and their associations, energy users and their associations, multi-lateral lenders, investment banks, other consultancies and various non-governmental public interest organisations.

Bruce is also active in research and is published in specialist and general economics and policy journals. At the VEPC, Bruce and his colleagues pursue applied research focused on challenges arising from the transition to a low carbon economy.
