20 - 21 May 2021
Executive Director - Surburban Development, Department Jobs, Precincts & Regions
Sara Harbidge will join us at Connect 2021 to speak in the Environment & Policy stream, to talk about servicing our changing communities. With more than 20 years of knowledge and experience across multiple sectors, Sara has developed wide government, stakeholder and community networks. Sara is a strong believer in the importance of bringing the voice of the community into public policy decisions so she is well placed to join the discussion on how to better service our changing communities.
Sara is the Executive Director of the Office for Suburban Development in the Precincts and Suburbs Group at the Victorian State Government’s Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions. Working across government, Sara drives and delivers complex, high profile policy initiatives, strategies, investment programs and large-scale reform to positively change Victoria’s future.
Sara’s team works with metropolitan communities through the Metropolitan Partnerships and Suburban Revitalisation Boards to deliver place-based programs that reflect the needs of communities and to revitalise suburbs. The Office for Suburban Development works across the three levels of government and across all state government departments.
Sara also leads the Metropolitan Partnerships Program, a successful Victorian Government initiative that brings together experts and leaders across all levels of business, government and the community to identify challenges and opportunities in their region, giving government rich insights to help shape policy responses.
Prior to this, Sara worked for many years in DELWP’s Water Group and led the development of the government’s Water for Victoria policy.
