Sarah Thomson will be part of a panel discussion in the Finance & Risk stream, asking the question 'is finance is playing the enabling role that it should?'. Sarah will share the stage with Tim White, Sarah Heath, and Anthony Hernan. Sarah is also participating in the Insights Program panel, in the Diversity & Inclusion stream.
Sarah is the General Manager of Digital, Governance and Finance (CFO) at Goulburn Valley Water in Shepparton. She is a values-driven leader with a diverse professional and personal history. She has worked in a range of roles including for International NGOs (including WaterAid Australia), Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu and Gundjehmi Aboriginal Corporation in Kakadu.
She has degrees in Economics, Asian Studies, Commerce, is a Chartered Accountant and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She loves a challenge and has completed the Ironman in Melbourne (a race involving 3.8km swim, 180km bike ride followed by 42km run). As well as a 10 day silent meditation retreat (Vipassana). Sarah’s background in finance, the water sector and governance will provide an interesting and thought provoking discussion.
