Central Highlands Water (CHW) was humbled to be named as a finalist in the Government Employer category of this year’s Wurreker Awards.
The Wurreker Awards, hosted by The Victorian Aboriginal Education Association (VAEAI), celebrates people and organisations who passionately contribute to First Nations training, education, and employment.
CHW was nominated in recognition of its Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander trainee program and team member cultural awareness training. Also noted were their Reconciliation Action Plan ambitions, Aboriginal Board Delegate program and ongoing engagement with Traditional Custodians and First Nations People, focusing on caring for water and Country together.
CHW representatives attended the annual awards, now in their 19th year, together with other organisations passionate about developing and delivering First Nations training, education and employment opportunities.
CHW thank VAEAI for this recognition and congratulate all finalists for their ongoing efforts.
