Central Highlands Water (CHW) will continue as community partner at this year’s Ballarat Begonia Festival, a long-standing partnership spanning over 25 years with the City of Ballarat.
The iconic 3-day festival attracting over 50,000 visitors annually, was launched today in the Ballarat Botanical Gardens at the Robert Clark Conservatory.
At the launch, in collaboration with the City of Ballarat, CHW revealed a new limited edition Choose Tap ‘begonia’ reusable stainless-steel water bottle, featuring the unique and rare collections of begonias the City of Ballarat’s horticultural team has grown in Ballarat.
The new bottle forms part of the Choose Tap program, which encourages the community to avoid single-use plastic water bottles, by choosing a reusable water bottle for the environment and a more sustainable future. The full range of Choose Tap water bottles will be available for purchase at the festival with 100% of proceeds from sales donated to local community bottle partner, CAFS’ (Child and Family Services) Thread Together Program.
Thread Together Program is a not-for-profit organisation providing people in need with brand-new clothing and accessories. The program is driving social and environmental change by redistributing excess clothing stock through purpose-designed clothing hubs across our region.
Onsite at the festival, CHW will have an exciting water efficiency display showcasing ways to be waterwise, both in the home or in the garden as well as other water related activations.
The festival will be held across the Labour Day long weekend from 8-10 March 2025, bringing Ballarat’s Botanical Gardens to life with spectacular flower displays, celebrity presenters and many more fun activities to enjoy.
