Barwon Water has announced the appointment of Shaun Cumming as the organisation’s Managing Director after an extensive and rigorous recruitment process.
Barwon Water Chair Jo Plummer said she and the Barwon Water board had unanimously agreed that Mr Cumming was the person to take Barwon Water forward.
“It is with absolute delight that I announce and welcome, on behalf of the Board, Shaun Cumming officially to the role of Managing Director for the next five years. Shaun’s vision, leadership, passion and care shone through at every stage of the recruitment process, which shortlisted six outstanding candidates.”
Ms Plummer said that Shaun, who has been in the role of Interim MD since the departure of Tracey Slatter to the TAC in June, has been an integral part of the Executive Leadership Team at Barwon Water for the last six years.
“Shaun has made a significant contribution towards our Strategy 2030 goals through his extensive experience in operations, construction, business development, program delivery and transformation over a 25-year career in the water industry.”
Ms Plummer said Mr Cumming is an exceptional leader who is trusted and respected by a broad range of Barwon Water’s external stakeholders.
“The Board is very confident that Shaun is the right person to advance the delivery of Strategy 2030 and the 2023 Price Submission to progress our commitments to our community and customers.”
Mr Cumming said he was proud to have been appointed and looked forward to delivering on Barwon Water’s aim to enable regional prosperity.
